Plann's angle is a visual planner with a strategy layer on top: content prompts, color palette analysis, and performance tips built into the calendar. I like the idea. If you open your calendar on Monday with no clue what to post, being handed a prompt is worth paying for.

Momentum is the problem. A smaller team maintains Plann, and feature velocity trails the bigger players, so you can find yourself waiting on things Later or Buffer shipped a year ago. There is no free plan, and pricing sits quietly on plannthat.com instead of anywhere you can compare it.

Screenshot your planned grid and copy out drafts and captions; nothing exports to another scheduler automatically.
Note which of Plann's extras you actually leaned on. Prompts and strategy tips point you toward SocialBee's AI Copilot or ReelDrop's AI writing; if it was just the grid, any visual planner works.
If you used Plann's hashtag suggestions, confirm the replacement covers hashtags. ReelDrop's paid plans and Tailwind both do.

Power User is $15 a month, or $12.50 a month billed annually, and there is a Free Forever plan with 30 AI credits and 5 video posts a month (plannthat.com, checked 30 September 2026). Check the page before comparing, because third-party lists are often out of date on Plann.

Is there a free Plann alternative?

Pallyy gives you 15 scheduled posts a month free with a grid preview, ReelDrop's Starter tier covers unlimited scheduling and posting on one account, and Metricool's free tier adds analytics. There is always Meta Business Suite too, if visual planning is something you can go without.

What replaces Plann's content prompts?
