ReelDrop for coaches

Updated: September 2026

A coaching business runs on two links: the free thing that gets someone on your list, and the call booking that turns them into a client. Both get delivered in the DMs. ReelDrop sends the first one automatically the moment someone comments, verifies the follow, and nudges the ones who went quiet.

What ReelDrop does for coaches

A coach's job on Instagram is lead capture, and the DM is the capture form. Someone watches a reel about the thing they are stuck on, comments the keyword, and expects the workbook, the guide or the call link in return. The distance between that comment and the delivery is where the lead is won or lost: answer in seconds and they are reading your material while still interested, answer tomorrow and they have moved on. ReelDrop closes that gap by sending the asset automatically, optionally checking that the person follows you first so the lead magnet grows your audience as well as your list, and sending one timed follow-up to the people who never opened it. The scheduling side keeps content going out during launch weeks when you have nothing left to give the feed.

The problems this solves

Build the funnel post, then the automation behind it

The post that works is specific. One problem, one framework, one instruction at the end: comment GUIDE and I will send it. Vague offers get vague comment counts.

In ReelDrop you attach the automation to that reel before it publishes, set the keyword, write the public comment reply and the DM that carries your link, and switch on follow verification. When someone comments, ReelDrop replies in public so the next reader sees it works, checks the follow, and delivers the asset. If the person is not following, they get a message asking them to follow and try again, which is a fair trade for something you made.

Set a follow-up for four hours later. A meaningful share of people see the DM notification while doing something else and never open the link. One reminder recovers them. Two is nagging.

Turn frameworks into carousels people save

Your five-step method is already carousel shaped. Type it into the carousel builder, pick your colours, and edit the generated slides until they say what you actually say in a session. Twenty minutes rather than an evening in a design tool, and it schedules like any other post.

Carousels are worth the effort for a coach specifically because saves and shares are how a framework reaches the second-degree audience, and because the last slide is a natural place to put the keyword instruction. AI carousel images are on the Creator plan, which includes 100 a month plus purchasable credits. If you are on Influencer, you can still upload slides you designed elsewhere and schedule them normally.

Stay visible through the launch weeks

The pattern that hurts coaching accounts is silence during a launch, when your attention is on calls and emails, followed by silence after it because you are recovering. Batch two weeks of content the day after each launch closes, while the material and the objections are fresh in your head.

AI caption drafts come back with a tone label, and they are drafts. Edit them. A tone-match score that grades a caption against your past writing is on the roadmap, not shipped, so the voice check is still yours to do.

Where the automation stops and you start

The automation sends one message. It does not qualify anyone, it does not answer objections, and it does not book the call. Everything after the first reply is a normal DM thread in your Instagram inbox, which is where coaching sales have always happened.

That boundary is deliberate. The value of the DM as a channel is that a real person answers, and the fastest way to burn it is to have a bot handle a conversation about someone paying you money for help.

An automation recipe for coaches

Follow verification earns its place here: someone receiving a piece of your actual method is getting real value, and a follow is a proportionate ask. It also means the lead magnet grows the audience that sees your next launch, not just the email list. The DM does one more thing than deliver: it gives an instruction ("work through page two") that creates a reason to reply, and a reply is the start of the conversation that ends in a call. Four hours on the follow-up is the sweet spot for a workday.

DM that goes out

Here is the guide: [your link]

It is the same framework I walked through in the reel, written out with the worksheet at the end. Work through page two before you do anything else, it is the part most people skip.

If you get stuck on it, reply here and tell me where. I read every message.

Follow gate

On. The link is delivered after ReelDrop verifies the follow.

Timed follow-up

4 hours after the first message, to anyone who did not open the link.

Which plan to start on

Influencer, $9.99/month or $79/year. Unlimited DM automations, the follow gate with verification, timed follow-ups, story-reply and DM-keyword triggers, and retrigger over old comments. This is the whole coaching funnel. Creator only matters if you want AI carousel images or a second account.

Frequently asked questions

Is comment-to-DM automation allowed?

Yes, on the official Instagram API, which is what ReelDrop uses. Your professional account is connected through Meta's own login and messages go out through the Messenger API for Instagram. No password is stored and nothing logs in as you. Meta's conditions apply: the person has to have contacted you first, which a comment satisfies, and per-account send limits are respected automatically.

Does the follow gate cost me leads?

Some, and it gains you followers. A person who will not follow you to receive a free workbook was unlikely to book a call. Run it on for a lead magnet with real substance and off for a purely informational link, such as a session recording someone already paid for.

Can the DM include a Calendly or booking link instead of a file?

Yes. The message is yours to write and the link can point anywhere: a booking page, a Google Drive file, a Notion page, a checkout. Sending the booking link straight from a comment works best when the reel was explicitly about working with you, rather than as the first thing a stranger receives.

What happens to people who commented before I set the automation up?

Retrigger runs the automation back across the comments already on the post, so the people who commented in the first hour still get the guide. This is the usual way an old funnel post gets restarted months later.

Which plan covers the follow gate and timed follow-ups?

The Influencer plan at $9.99/month or $79/year (India: ₹449/month or ₹4,999/year) includes unlimited DM automations, all trigger types, follow verification, timed follow-ups and retrigger. The free Starter tier includes 5 DM automations on reels and posts, which is enough to test one funnel before paying.
