This page explains how to delete data that ReelDrop holds about you. It is published by 10517933 Canada Ltd., operating as reeldrop.io, and is required for compliance with the Meta Platform Terms and applicable privacy laws.
Two paths to deletion
There are two separate ways to remove data from ReelDrop:
- Disconnect Instagram only: removes the data we hold from your connected Instagram account, but leaves your ReelDrop account in place.
- Delete your ReelDrop account: removes everything we hold about you, including any connected Instagram data. If you own a workspace shared with teammates, that workspace is handed off rather than deleted — see below.
Disconnecting Instagram
You can disconnect in either direction:
- From inside ReelDrop: go to settings, find your connected Instagram account, and click disconnect.
- From Facebook / Instagram: open Facebook → settings → apps and websites → active → ReelDrop → remove. Meta will then call our deauthorization webhook.
Within 7 days of either action we delete the following Instagram-related data:
- Your Instagram OAuth access token and refresh metadata.
- Cached Instagram user ID, username, and profile picture URL.
- Scheduled posts that were not yet published.
- Insights snapshots fetched on your behalf.
We retain only what is necessary to operate the service: aggregated anonymous analytics, billing records (if any), and audit logs of the disconnection event.
Deleting your full ReelDrop account
The fastest way is in the app: go to Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. You’ll be asked to type DELETE to confirm. Once you do, deletion runs immediately — your data is erased, your Instagram connection is revoked, any active subscription is cancelled, and you’re signed out before the confirmation dialog closes.
If you can’t sign in — you’ve lost access to your account or its email — email us instead from the address on your account at hello@reeldrop.io with the subject line “Delete my ReelDrop account”. We will confirm receipt within two business days and complete deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted vs. retained
Deleted
- Your Clerk identity and profile (name, email, avatar).
- Your personal workspace, and any other workspace you own where you’re the only member — its posts, drafts, carousels, automations, notifications, and content plan.
- All media behind those workspaces in our AWS S3 buckets (videos, images, cover frames, hook photos), plus any reel or story media you’d uploaded but not yet published.
- Every Instagram account you connected: the access token is revoked with Meta and the connection record deleted, in every workspace you connected it from.
- Carousel projects, generated slides, and the AI prompt history behind content that’s deleted along with its workspace.
Handled differently
- Workspaces you share with teammates aren’t deleted — ownership passes to the longest-tenured admin (or, failing that, the longest-tenured member), your membership in it is removed, and your name comes off anything you created there. Automations tied to your Instagram connection are paused rather than deleted, so they pick back up if the new owner reconnects.
Retained
- Billing and tax records: invoices and payment receipts are retained for 7 years, as required by Canadian tax law.
- Security and audit logs: retained for 90 days to support fraud, abuse, and security investigations.
- Aggregated anonymous analytics: usage statistics that cannot be linked back to an individual user.
- Backups: encrypted backups are purged on a rolling 30-day cycle, after which deleted records are fully gone.
Timelines
- Instagram disconnection: within 7 days.
- Full account deletion, in-app: immediate.
- Full account deletion, by email: within 30 days of your request.
- Backup purge: rolling 30-day cycle after primary deletion.
Third-party data
Content you have already published to your Instagram feed lives on Instagram’s servers, not ours. We cannot delete it for you. Please remove those posts directly from Instagram.
For AI prompts processed by Google Gemini, we will request deletion in line with Google’s data controls. Google retains some inference logs under its own policies, which you can review at policies.google.com/privacy.
Confirmation
Deleting in-app is confirmed the moment it happens: you’re signed out and returned to the homepage. If you requested deletion by email, we’ll send a confirmation to the address on file once it’s complete; if you don’t hear back within 30 days, follow up at hello@reeldrop.io.
Questions or escalations
For any questions about deletion, or to escalate a request that has not been actioned, contact hello@reeldrop.io. For the broader picture of what we collect and how we use it, see our privacy policy.
