Carousel Converter

Pick a direction and convert a LinkedIn PDF carousel to Instagram slides, or Instagram slides to a LinkedIn PDF. Runs entirely in your browser.

Which way?

Instagram slide format

Runs in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded.

How it works: Export your LinkedIn document/carousel post as a PDF, then upload it here. Each page is rendered onto an Instagram-ready canvas (white background, centered, no cropping) and packaged for download.

How it works

LinkedIn carousels are PDFs; Instagram carousels are images. Pick a direction and this tool converts in your browser: a LinkedIn PDF becomes one Instagram-ready JPEG per page, or a set of Instagram slide images becomes one LinkedIn-ready PDF. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

  1. Choose a direction: LinkedIn to Instagram, or Instagram to LinkedIn.

  2. LinkedIn to Instagram: drop the PDF you posted on LinkedIn and pick portrait 4:5 or square. Instagram to LinkedIn: add your slide images in order and pick a page size.

  3. Convert, then download. You get a ZIP of JPEGs for Instagram, or a single PDF for LinkedIn.

  4. Post it: upload the slides as an Instagram carousel, or start a LinkedIn post, choose Add a document, and give it a title.

Because you already did the hard part. A carousel that worked on one platform (a framework, a checklist, a teardown) usually works on the other too; the audiences overlap less than you'd think, so it isn't even a rerun for most followers. The only real barrier is the format mismatch: LinkedIn wants a PDF, Instagram wants images. That's the whole job this tool does.

How LinkedIn document posts work

LinkedIn has no carousel post type. What people call a LinkedIn carousel is a document post: you attach a PDF and LinkedIn shows it in a viewer that people page through with arrows. The document gets a title you type when you upload it, and that title shows above the viewer, so write it like a headline rather than a file name.

LinkedIn accepts PDF, PowerPoint and Word files for document posts. A PDF is the safest choice for slides, because the layout and fonts stay exactly as you exported them. Several images in one LinkedIn post show as a photo grid, not as pages people flip through, which is why the conversion is needed.

What size should the slides be?

For Instagram, portrait 1080 x 1350 (4:5) is the right answer for almost everyone: it takes up the most screen space in the feed. Square 1080 x 1080 still works and suits designs that were built square. Instagram carousels support up to 20 slides, so even a long LinkedIn document fits in one post.

For LinkedIn, keep the size your slides were designed at, so nothing gets padded: square slides stay 1080 x 1080 and 4:5 slides stay 1080 x 1350. LinkedIn's viewer shows either shape, and a lot of LinkedIn reading happens on desktop, which is one reason many LinkedIn decks are square.

What to check before you post

Going to Instagram, check text size. Many LinkedIn document views happen on desktop, where small labels are legible; Instagram is nearly all phones. If you have to pinch-zoom to read a slide at phone width, so does everyone else. The cover needs a second look too: on Instagram the first slide is the whole pitch, so swap a quiet LinkedIn cover for one that states the payoff.

Going to LinkedIn, write the post text first. On Instagram the caption sits under the slides; on LinkedIn the post text sits above the document and decides whether anyone opens it. A deck that relied on its Instagram caption for context needs that context moved into the LinkedIn post.

Frequently asked questions

Does my file get uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF or images are processed in your browser and nothing leaves your device.

Can I use a Canva or Figma design instead of a LinkedIn export?

Yes. For LinkedIn to Instagram the tool takes any PDF and doesn't care where it came from. Export at high quality and the slides come out sharp.

What file do I get?

Going to Instagram, a high-quality JPEG per PDF page in a ZIP, sized to the format you picked. Going to LinkedIn, one PDF with a page per image.

Will my slides get cropped?

No. Each page or image is scaled to fit inside the frame rather than cropped. If the proportions differ a lot from the target size you may see some white padding, which is usually preferable to losing edge text.

How many slides can an Instagram carousel have?

Up to 20. If your LinkedIn document runs longer, split it into two posts and put the stronger half first. The Instagram to LinkedIn direction also takes up to 20 images.

Is a LinkedIn carousel the same as a document post?

Yes. LinkedIn retired its native carousel post format, so a swipeable post on LinkedIn today is a document post: a PDF that readers page through in the feed.
