1. the program
the reeldrop referral program (the “program”) is operated by 10517933 Canada Ltd. (operating as reeldrop.io, “reeldrop”, “we”). every reeldrop account holder gets a personal referral link. by participating you agree to these terms, our terms of service, and our privacy policy.
this program is separate from paid creator campaigns. a single signup is never credited to both.
2. what each side gets
when someone signs up through your link and subscribes to any recurring plan (creator or influencer, monthly or yearly):
- they get their first month free. on a monthly plan that is their first invoice; on a yearly plan it is one twelfth off their first invoice. it is applied at checkout — there is no code to enter.
- you get one free month of your own plan, once they actually pay. see section 4 for what “free month” means depending on whether you are already paying for reeldrop.
a lifetime purchase carries no discount for the buyer — there is no recurring invoice for a free month to apply to — but you still earn your reward for referring them: it is still a paid signup.
3. who qualifies as a referral
only a brand-new reeldrop account qualifies, and only when the account is created after the link is clicked. existing account holders who click a referral link are not referrals, and no reward is earned for them.
a referral does not qualify where:
- the two accounts belong to the same person, reach the same inbox, or share a payment method;
- the new account uses a temporary or disposable email address;
- the same person has already earned you a reward once;
- you are on a lifetime plan — there is no recurring invoice for a free month to apply to, so lifetime holders are outside the program entirely;
- you have already earned 12 free months in the trailing 365 days (see section 5);
- an earlier referral link — from this program or the creator program — was clicked first. attribution is first-touch: the first link wins.
a referral you make while at your own yearly limit is still recorded, and the person you referred still gets their free month — only your own reward is withheld until a slot opens up again.
4. how your free month is granted
you are not rewarded the moment someone signs up. the person you referred has to make a real payment first — their own free month does not count, and cancelling during it earns you nothing. once they pay:
- if you are on the free plan, we comp your account onto the plan your first paying friend bought — creator or influencer — for about a month, with no card required. every later paying friend extends that same plan by another month, whichever plan they bought. when the free time runs out, your account returns to the free plan.
- if you already pay for creator or influencer, monthly or yearly, you get account credit worth one month of your own plan — the monthly price, or one twelfth of the yearly price. it is applied to your next invoice automatically. on a yearly plan that makes your next renewal cheaper; it does not move the renewal date.
free months have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or credited to another account.
5. limit
you can earn up to 12 free months in any rolling 365-day period, across both kinds of reward above. past that, your history shows “yearly limit reached”; the friends you refer still get their own free month. each month frees its slot again 365 days after you earned it.
6. changing plans
upgrading keeps your reward. unused credit is money on your account and is applied to the bigger plan. if you are on free comped months and buy a plan, the new plan starts straight away but your first payment is taken on the day your free time would have ended — nothing is lost.
downgrading, or moving to lifetime, removes any unused reward. unused credit is taken off your account and any running free months end. this cannot be undone.
7. refunds
the program has no refund policy of its own: a reward, once granted, is not reversed because of anything that later happens to the referred person’s subscription. section 8 still applies.
8. abuse
creating accounts to refer yourself, buying signups, or otherwise manufacturing referrals is a breach of these terms. we may withhold or reverse rewards, and suspend accounts, where we reasonably believe the program is being gamed.
9. changes and termination
we may modify, suspend, or end the program at any time by updating this page. rewards already granted before a change are honored. referrals that convert after the program ends do not qualify.
10. governing law
these terms are governed by the laws of the province of ontario and the federal laws of canada applicable therein. where required by local law (including quebec), participation may be limited or adjusted to comply.
