Connect Meta Muse to ReelDrop

Muse builds its own connector from ReelDrop's MCP server URL. Unlike Claude, it cannot open a browser to sign in, so you give it an access token instead: create one in Settings, paste it into Muse's secure credential prompt when asked, and Muse tests every tool and saves the integration as a skill. About three minutes.
Before you start
- An Influencer or Creator plan. On the free Starter plan the connection succeeds but every tool answers with an upgrade prompt.
- A ReelDrop workspace with an Instagram account connected, if you want Muse to actually read analytics or schedule anything.
- Meta Muse on any of its surfaces (the app, muse.ai, or WhatsApp). Custom connectors are built in a chat, so no particular plan is needed on the Muse side.
Create a token
In ReelDrop, open the Connect your AI assistant page and scroll to the Meta Muse section. Under Your access token, name it Meta Muse and click Create token. (The same tokens are listed, with revoked ones, in Settings → AI assistants.)
Copy the token now. It is shown once; after this only its first few characters appear in the list.
A token gives Muse the same access as signing in with OAuth does for Claude: every tool, in every workspace you belong to. Muse asks you before anything that writes, and you can revoke the token at any time.
Ask Muse to build the connector
Open a Muse chat and paste this, or something like it:
Build a custom integration to ReelDrop. Its MCP server URL is https://mcp.reeldrop.io/mcp (streamable HTTP). It authenticates with a bearer token — send "Authorization: Bearer <token>" on every request; I'll give you the token through the secure credential prompt, not here. I want you to be able to read my Instagram analytics, see my scheduled reels and posting slots, and draft captions. Test each tool and save it as a skill.
Paste the token when Muse asks
Muse opens a secure credential prompt, separate from the chat. Paste the token there. It goes into Muse's credential store outside the agent and is swapped in at the network edge, so the model itself never sees the real value.
Never paste the token into the chat itself. If you do by accident, revoke it in Settings and create a new one.
Let Muse test and save it
Muse connects, lists ReelDrop's tools, calls each one, and reports what it found. When it offers to save the integration as a skill, say yes: the connector is then available in every future chat without repeating any of this.
Check it worked by asking something only the real connection can answer: "list my ReelDrop workspaces". You should get your workspace names back.
Why Muse uses a token and Claude does not
Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT and the other clients on the Connect your AI assistant page sign in with OAuth: they open your browser, you log in to ReelDrop, and they receive a short-lived token they can refresh. Muse runs on a cloud virtual machine of its own and has no browser to hand you, so its custom-connector flow asks for a credential up front and keeps it in a separate store.
A ReelDrop token is the same identity as the OAuth sign-in: it is you, across every workspace you belong to, with the same tools. Each tool still checks workspace membership and your plan on every call. Muse itself asks before anything that writes, and its connector can be set to read-only from Muse's settings if you want a second guard.
Managing tokens
Settings → AI assistants lists every token with its name, the first characters, and when it was last used. Revoke disconnects it immediately; anything Muse tries after that gets a sign-in error. You can hold up to ten active tokens, one per assistant or device.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use OAuth with Muse instead?
Not today. Muse's custom-connector flow takes API keys and bearer tokens; it does not complete a browser sign-in. If Meta adds OAuth to custom connectors, the same server URL will work with it.
Does Muse see my ReelDrop password or Instagram login?
No. The token is a ReelDrop credential that identifies your account; it is not your password. Instagram publishing still goes through ReelDrop and the official Instagram API, exactly as it does from the app.
What can Muse do once connected?
Everything the MCP connection offers Claude: list workspaces and accounts, read the queue and posting slots, pull every analytics report, draft captions, schedule, edit and cancel reels, and create or manage comment-to-DM automations. Muse checks with you before it changes anything.
How do I disconnect?
Revoke the token — in the Meta Muse section of the Connect your AI assistant page, or in Settings → AI assistants. Muse's saved skill stops working the next time it tries, and you can delete the connector from Muse's own settings too.
Can Muse do a deep dive on my analytics?
Yes. Ask a question like "how did my reels do over the last 90 days and what should I change" and Muse plans the calls itself: account analytics for the follower trend, per-reel analytics for winners and losers, posting slots for timing. It can run this in the background and come back with a write-up.
